Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport: Take Rhônexpress to Part-Dieu: under 30 minutes, direct, frequent, and roughly €17 one way—painfully priced but the reliable choice with luggage. For Presqu’île or Villeurbanne, get off at Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie and use Métro A. The budget workaround is bus 47 to Meyzieu Z.I. then tram T3, around €2.10 but substantially slower and less convenient; it is worth it only if money matters more than time. A city-centre taxi is roughly €40–50.
Gare de Lyon-Part-Dieu: This is the principal station and the sensible arrival point for almost every TGV/long-distance service. It is on Métro B and beside trams; walk only if your hotel is in the Part-Dieu business district. For Presqu’île, take Métro B to Saxe-Gambetta and change, or use a tram/metro combination depending on the address. Paris is about 2 hours by TGV; Marseille about 1 hour 36 minutes.
Gare de Lyon-Perrache: A smaller but more central station for some regional and national trains. It is at the south end of Presqu’île, on Métro A and tram lines T1/T2; Bellecour is a short walk. Choose Perrache over Part-Dieu when the fare and timetable are comparable and you are staying in central Lyon.
Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport: For many intercontinental itineraries, do not automatically add a domestic flight: direct TGVs from the airport rail station to Lyon Part-Dieu run roughly hourly and take about 2 hours. Book a flexible/exchangeable ticket if arrival delays are possible; this is often cleaner than changing airports or flying onward.
Geneva Airport: Useful only when airfare is meaningfully cheaper or Geneva is also on the trip. The practical rail route is airport to Genève station, then TER to Part-Dieu: roughly 2½ hours total and about CHF37 in the cited routing. It is not a quick Lyon airport transfer.
