When to go

BestGoodFairPoorClosedCrowds (quiet → packed)April is best for the fullest overlap of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and spring colour.

Day: Monday–Wednesday, usually the quietest days.
Time: Be inside at 08:00–10:30 for quieter paths, indoor shows and the best photography light. · After 16:00 for fewer visitors and softer late-afternoon light around ponds and tree-lined paths.
Avoid: Avoid visits outside the March 18–May 9, 2027 opening season; also avoid wet, windy days if you only want outdoor tulip-field photography.
