Getting in

• Sibiu International Airport: Take Tursib bus 11 (the pink line) from the airport gate toward the centre: roughly 10–15 minutes and 3.50 lei for a 60-minute ticket. Tap a contactless Visa or Mastercard on board; it prints the ticket. A metered taxi is sensible only with luggage or a late arrival: about 25 lei by day, 30 lei late at night, around 15 minutes. Do not pre-book an expensive “airport transfer” for this tiny airport.
• Sibiu Central railway station / Autogara Transmixt: The station and main bus terminal sit about 500 m northeast of the historic centre: walk 8–10 minutes to Piața Mare rather than taking a taxi. This is the practical arrival point for trains and intercity buses; rail from Bucharest takes about 5–6 hours, while buses from Bucharest are usually about 5 hours and from Cluj-Napoca about 4 hours.
