Tickets go on sale 30 days ahead. Timed Colosseum tickets generally go on sale 30 days before the visit. Full Experience Arena and Passage of Commodus are released 7 days ahead; underground and attic allocations are limited and can sell out quickly.

Free entry: Visitors under 18 enter free but must obtain the required free ticket. Free walk-up, first-come admission is offered on the first Sunday of each month and, in 2026, April 25, June 2, and November 4; expect very long queues. Qualifying visitors with disabilities and an accompanying person, plus certain statutory professional categories, may enter free with required documentation.

Sold out? Check the official ticketing site for returned or expired-cart inventory, but do not rely on last-minute refreshes. If underground or attic tickets are gone, book the standard €18 ticket or Full Experience Arena instead; both provide a substantive visit. Check official educational-tour availability. If using a reseller, buy only a clearly described guided tour with named Colosseum entry included; do not use street sellers or ticket transfers because tickets are named and ID is checked.
