Salt Lake City International Airport: Take UTA TRAX Green Line from Airport Station to City Center (about 20 minutes; roughly $2.50 one way). It is the sensible downtown transfer, not a shuttle. Rideshare is useful only for late arrivals, ski gear, or a hotel far from TRAX; expect a materially higher and surge-prone fare.
Salt Lake Central / Intermodal Hub: Amtrak’s California Zephyr stops here, but at inconvenient hours: westbound around 11pm and eastbound around 3am. The station connects directly to TRAX and FrontRunner; downtown is a short light-rail ride or walk. Do not book a hotel-transfer package for this.
Ogden FrontRunner Station: For regional arrivals from northern Wasatch Front, take UTA FrontRunner south to Salt Lake Central—about an hour, with fares varying by distance (roughly $2.50–$9.70). It is useful on weekdays and Saturdays, not a substitute for a late-night connection.
Provo FrontRunner Station: From Provo and the southern Wasatch Front, FrontRunner runs north to Salt Lake Central in roughly an hour to 75 minutes, then connect to TRAX or walk into downtown. Check the schedule carefully: service is geared to commuters and is limited on Sundays.
